Fabrication Process /
VMC methodstands for Vaporized Metal Combustion Method.
The VMC method was originally developed by Admatechs.
This utilizes the deflagration of metal powders to produce spherical oxide particles.
When metal powders are sprinkled in a stream of oxygen and ignited, the oxides generated become vapor or liquid due to the reaction heat. After cooling, fine oxide particles, which are the "ADMAFINE spherical particles" , are generated.
ADMAFINE silica and ADMAFINE alumina are made of silicon and aluminum respectively.
Spherical particles can also be produced with composite oxides as well as single oxides.
As for this technology, we succeeded in the industrialization for the first time in the world, and have obtained patents for it, not only in Japan, but also in North America and Europe.
Metals are vaporized and oxidized at high temperature, and the heat of oxidization generated is used to vaporize the subsequent metals. This achieves various advantages, for example, simplification of processes, energy saving, and no generation of harmful byproducts.
